Office politics was never something that I thought it would be involved in, let alone draw sword with someone. To cut short, the same story below, I explained it to her some that most of the things she viewed of me was invalid, dis dis tat tat yada yada...still she refuse to listen to me. Boom suddenly, she bombarded me with an extremely negative feedback as if I was like totally uncooperative, not responsible, low quality, no standard. Even though I have already explained to her what she felt was wrong.
Some example was like she said that client had a busy schedule, and that I didn't manage his time properly, as a result, I DRAGGED the engagement time to be much more than expected. The truth is that I nv once breach any of the time frame, she or the senior set. I even was rushing the senior to review my work, something I haven done before for the whole of my life in EY. Review point was cleared immediately once the senior return her comments to me.
The most memorable one was that the SM was flying off for a trip, and senior said to clear by wed, so that we dun have to face partner ourselves. I chased the client the whole day on monday, client said he was offsite, jokingly said to meet at 7pm instead. I said "OK", which gave the client a shock. In the end, he couldn't make it for 7pm, and asked for 7.30am next morning, which I promptly agreed and met him the next day to clear my work.
I pushed and rushed so much for the case, and in the end I DRAGGED the engagement. WOW AMAZING...HOW FACTUAL is that
SM said that I double standard her work, and I didn't check A while I did for another manager. Usually we checked for B & C for all work, while A was not covered because risk is small. I did A once because the manager on the job specifically asked me to do it, because it was an insurance firm, we needed to cover more. Fine, with instructions I would check. So she asked me how come I didn't do A, what I understand is that usually we do not check for A but only B & C. Than she say me double standard her.
WTF. If you wanted me to do SAY lar...else how the hell would I know if you want to do or not.
The worst was that the senior's not even defensive of me and of course Nick another associate when she understands all that I have done. It's such a disappointment because I never tot that she was this kind of person, but I guess, I can only say that people are just hard to tell.
Some people are just fcuked up by default.
