Today, I got scolded during work for nuts sakeBasically I was asked to document what client say because he's a sly person, so in order to do that, I sent an email with very simple fundamental questions so that when client reply yes or no, I can use the email as an audit evidence. Then my manager came to scold me for asking such simple questions, and she said that the questions should have been answered at the start of the audit. I already knew the answer but I was just asking to document the client's reply.
Than I got scolded for sending too much email, when I only sent like 1 email. Just because the client said that we should be consolidating emails before sending him, and my colleague who was also sending email (2 emails). Come on lar, we are doing different things and at different site, the fastest would be to consolidate our own request and send rite? If we consolidate ourselves, it would probably take much longer. Besides, client's just kb at like 3 emails...and my manager didn't even want to find out more on the story.
Then I got scolded again for not finding out more on some remote access issues. It's like I am just a puny new guy and that I haven did before, of course I wouldn't have covered the part. She said that this should be basic that should already been covered.
And I was accused of double standard such as providing more coverage and depth for another manager and not hers. I mean come on lar...it's cause it was requested by the other manager lar. You didn't even say anything, of course I dunno what standard you want rite? It's like the senior never say also, than when she said, I clear her review pt, you came and scold me how come I nv ask initially? Worst id despite coughing and coughing, I chased the client day and night to complete ur engagement, When client couldn't make it for office hours, I volunteer to meet at 7pm and 7.30 am. Double standard my ass...
Moral of the story is, dun assume we know what you want and understand our story before you state your stand. And it's not worth it to waste my time and energy to cover more for managers who assumes everything out of their way.
